I used to agree, actually–but i’ve met people who i firmly believe when they said they didn’t feel a calling to a particular religion. Who am i to try to force them to choose one if they don’t have a testimony of it?
I agree but I think too often when people claim to be spiritual but not religious they use it as a way to pat themselves on the back for being intellectually superior and above the fray of seriously pursuing ANY spirituality.
It’s less troublesome and more popular to just profess some abstract principle of warm fuzziness rather than committ to something specific, demanding and challenging.
But of course, you can’t force any beliefs on anyone.
