Although I've read of Muslim polygamy in the UK and US, it certainly doesn't get much attention. Plus, I imagine if it did, there would be a much greater degree of PC deference to culture and making them the freakshow that has become of the Texas FLDS. Would the mainstream press be so critical, or would political correctness dictate more respect for the adherents' firmly held beliefs? I wouldn't agree with the religious practices any more or any less, nor would the populace as a whole, but I think society would be much more accepting (or perhaps much more hesitant to criticize) if that big white temple was a big white mosque instead.
