“LDS Church sends leaders to greet the Pope”
The Church is sending Elder M. Russell Ballard and Elder Gene R. Cook to represent the Church as the Pope visits the U.S. . .
The Church says it doesn’t expect to have a face-to-face meeting with the Pope. But [Robert] Millet says there have been many meetings with Church leaders and Catholic cardinals over the years.

Thanks for the info, I googled in an attempt to find out this info. I was wondering about if our church was going to meet the Pope during this visit. I work w/some individuals who are Catholic and they have been excited about Pope Benedict’s visit.
Interesting too- this Sunday, Elder Ballard is also speaking to military members in Northern Va and on the same night, at the stake center next to the Temple, Elder Cook is speaking to those who are young single adults.
