That's the problem with using scriptural texts to buttress a position, sociopolitical or other--it's not the text that matters, it's the *interpretation*.</description>

Actually, I think the Sermon on the Mount is just code for someone to encapsulate the lovey-dovey stuff they think is good in the scriptures (or ought to be in the scriptures) but without really worrying about, you know, the specifics.</description>
