It's true that our beliefs are Christian, but our culture is so distant from everyone else (no crosses etc.) that I can see why we aren't "Christian". That's OK. More literally, Islam means "submission", implying submission to the divine. It is logical that if one submits to God, who is the author of Peace, peace will follow.
