More masterful history and political lore from DMI’s “guest-poster Justin. Former U.S. Representative and Secretary of Interior Stewart Udall takes on the Church’s policy on blacks. Incidentally, the Udall family is quite a political dynasty that is not mentioned often. Stewart’s brother, “Mo,” also served as a Representative from Arizona for some time and ran for the Democratic presidential nomination 1976. Stewart’s son, Tom, currently serves as a Rep. from New Mexico, and Mo’s son, Mark currently serves as a Rep. from Colorado. Their cousin, Gordon Smith, is a Senator from Oregon. Smith and Tom consider themselves LDS.
